Ventilation Checklists

An effective mechanical ventilation system must be able to exchange indoor air with outdoor air, distribute ventilation air to most rooms of the house and exhaust air from kitchens, bathrooms and laundry rooms, as well as circulate the ventilation air within the rooms.
About Us

How Do I Know If My Ventilation System is Functioning Properly?

TECA (Thermal Environmental Comfort Association) is BC’s residential HVAC association that provides training and standards, which are enforced by local municipalities across Metro Vancouver. As a TECA certified business, Fire and Ice has the necessary knowledge and documentation to meet the requirements of regulatory officials to conduct a thorough ventilation assessment of your heating, cooling and ventilation system. Our company holds a HVCI Ventilation Guidelines Certification, a numbered stamp for validating TECA Mechanical Ventilation Checklists, which are required by many BC municipal and district inspection departments.
What Can We Do

How Fire and Ice Can Help

Whenever a building permit is in place for a residential renovation or new construction, we make certain the design actually performs as intended by measuring the performance of the system, and where required, advise on what is needed for a predictable and secure manner of ventilation.
We will provide the initial consultation to inform you of the ventilation code requirements and best installation practices, including design and layout for your system. We will follow-up with a site review, after rough-in installation is complete, to ensure code compliance.
